The Motu...

The private motu is over three acres in size. It includes three fares (bungalows) destined to welcome you. The motu and the porch of your fare face west; you'll enjoy the sunset during cocktail hour

The transfer

The Manihi airport runway was recently rebuilt (May 2007). The runway was extended by several hundred yards following its destruction in 1993 after a very strong Pacific storm surge. When the plane logo (click on the logo to obtain information on flight schedules and to make online flight reservations) lands at the Manihi airport, your adventure begins.

After collecting your luggage, you will be guided to the marina docks adjacent to the airport where a speed boat awaits to take you to the motu. The transfer, which will take approximately 30 minutes depending on the conditions in the lagoon and the tradewinds, will allow you to forget the 21st century and to approach Nanihi Paradise like it should be appreciated, as a new world...

The Motu...

The private motu is over three acres in size. It includes three fares (bungalows) destined to welcome you. The motu and the porch of your fare face west; you'll enjoy the sunset during cocktail hour. The beach at the front of the motu is ideal for swimming with a sandy bottom and shallow torquoise water. Further out, a coral reef spread over almost 10 acres is available for snorkeling and shell-hunting.

The Bungalows...

Each bungalow includes two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a porch. Each bedroom can accomodate two adults (in a double bed) or three children (in a bunk bed and a single bed). Each bedroom has two large windows (5 feet wide by 3 feet tall) for ideal ventilation, mosquito netting on each bed for sleeping like a baby, and a door opening to the porch. The porch is over 200 square feet, and it faces the beach, the lagoon, and the sunset. In the Tuamotus, one basically lives outside; therefore, a spacious porch is important.

Between the two bedrooms is a kitchen with a refrigerator, a gas stove, and all the necessary equipment for those who have chosen the "Fare Only" package.

The bathroom is at the back of the house. You can enter the bathroom through the kitchen or from the outside, so that when you return from the ocean you can enter the bathroom without passing through the Fare.

Supplemental Grocery...

A supplemental grocery is at your disposal on the motu for those of you who have chosen the "Fare Only" package. Here you will find non-perishable, frozen, and occasionally fresh grocery products. You can also bring your provisions with you from Papeete, but the weight limit on the inter-island airlines can be an obstacle. In addition, you can go to the small village supermarket for additional food items that you desire.

Drinks...

Water is the most important element in the Tuamotus. Rain water is collected from the Fare roofs and stored in cisterns. This water must be conserved when showering, using the bathroom, and cooking. The local inhabitants drink the rain water, but it can be difficult to digest for unaccustomed visitors. A parallel circuit with non-potable well water supplies water for the toilets and the kitchen sink. This water is perfectly fine for doing dishes, washing clothes, and flushing the toilet. However, Nanihi Paradise has bottled mineral water at your disposal. In addition, we offer non-alcoholic drinks, beer, a limited variety of wines, and before and after dinner drinks including cocktails.

The Packages...

Fare Only Package

You will have brought with you your food or you have chosen to buy it at the village supermarket. The bungalow is at your disposal including an fully equiped kitchen for preparing meals. At all time, your hosts are at your disposal to open the motu's supplemental grocery or even to help you prepare delicious local dishes.

Complete Board/Half Board Package

For some people, vacation means total relaxation without cooking. For these people, we offer a complete board package where all three meals will be served family style in the new Fare Pote at a large friendly table.
